Will support the mission of the agency by providing financial and human resource services to include: budget preparation, grants management, and accounting services. Principal Duties and Responsibilities:*Maintain accounting journals of original entry, cash receipts journal, and general journal*Post all original entries to ledger and subsidiary accounts, maintain running balances to include restricted fund accounts and employee conferences*Maintain receipts and other financial documentation pertaining to financial transactions*Prepare bank deposits*Ensure preparation of employee payroll, maintain the records for payments, and end of the year forms*Ensure preparation of quarterly tax reports and end of the year forms*Prepare monthly financial statements, by agency and by program, for Executive Director and Board of Directors*Reconcile monthly checking account statements, maintain current records of investment accounts*Maintain records of grants, payables, receivables, and checkbook balance*Prepare information and billing on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis by VSOC program*Prepare funding applications by providing historical and current data, forecast projected requirements*Assist in preparation and revision of annual budgets and grant proposals*Assist with outside audits, grant activities*Ensure adequate training for staff and volunteer personnel, maintain personnel training files*Perform background verification for staff and direct service volunteer personnel*Assist the Executive Director in maintaining appropriate insurance coverage for VSOC*Coordinate IT services for the agency, Provide individual and group financial management classes for clients*Provide relief for client intake receptionist, children's advocate, and SANE accompaniment
Required: Bachelor Degree with special emphasis in Accounting Principles, or a minimum of 5-years related experience (in a general accounting practice)Required: Working knowledge of computer software and hardwareRequired: Completion of agency training programRequired: Reliable car and a Valid Driver's License, and auto insuranceRequired: Able to maintain discretion and confidentialityPreferred: Knowledge of non-profit funds accounting
