FULLY REMOTE OPPORTUNITY FOR A 3+ YEAR FINANCIAL ANALYST! **MUST RESIDE IN ONE OF THE FOLLOWING STATES: NY, NJ, SC, GA, FL, TN, MA, TX, NC, VT, PA, WI, VA.
Our well-established client in the professional services industry is hiring a Financial Analyst with effective communication skills. The ideal candidate for this position enjoys working as part of a team, but can also self-manage and prioritize their tasks. The Financial Analyst will coordinate and participate in the design, testing, implementation, and review of complex manual and automated financial and accounting systems and processes. This position plays a critical role in the company's overall strategy by ensuring that business units meet financial and operational targets, supports financial modeling, and uses data to highlight opportunities for improvement and/or cost savings. This fast-paced position has high growth potential with exceptional performance and will work collaboratively with all teams: C-Suite, Business Development, Research, and Marketing.
Major responsibilities:
Prepares and maintain key performance indicators (KPI) reports and operational dashboards for diverse project portfolios across the entire organization.
Assists in financial planning, budget, and cash flow projections.
Creates and analyze reports to answer questions, identify issues, and develop short and long-term solutions in support of the organization’s operational and growth strategies.
Performs month-end close procedures.
Assist with audits.
Reviews complex financial accounting work processes, systems, and procedures for efficient workflow and conformity with accounting principles.
Analyzes and reviews proposals for any system related to financial accounting methods, policies, and procedures; recommends improvements.
Analyzes system design alternatives and identifies potential improvements to existing systems and processes.
Collaborates with appropriate staff to gather input and feedback concerning system needs.
Resolves issues and problems related to system platforms.
Maintains or assists with maintenance of accounting information systems.
Prepares and delivers comprehensive evaluations, proposals, and recommendations to executive leadership, committees, and other stakeholders.
Reviews and analyzing financial statements and reports.
Assists project teams with financial guidance.
Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong leadership skills.
Thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Thorough understanding of generally accepted auditing standards.
Thorough understanding of methods of systems analysis and the principles, design, and procedural methods used in computer and database development.
Thorough understanding of project management.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBooks or related software.
Advanced in Excel.
Experience with Power Query, PowerBI, Tableau and/or similar software preferred, but not required.
Ability to present financial information to a non-financial audience.
Working knowledge of financial strategies.
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Masters degree preferred.
CPA preferred or compensating professional experience.
3+ years of professional experience as an accountant, financial analyst, auditor, or related field.
