Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Financial Aid Coordinator for the Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS). This candidate is the main point of contact for the flow of communication with students, both in-person and over the phone, to answer financial aid questions whenever possible, while referring more complex inquiries to the appropriate counselors.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Provides administrative support to the Financial Aid office, including but not limited to greeting students, and assisting the staff with time-sensitive projects.
  • Disseminates financial aid information to students via emails and telephone calls.
  • Assists counselors with follow-up requests and correspondences.
  • Teaches and provides guidance on technical information (website, portal) to students, co-workers and work-study staff; work well with other offices and departments and be a team player.

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Associate's Degree.
  • Additional years of relevant experience can be considered as a substitute fir the degree on a one-year-for-one-year basis.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Great level of customer service, ability to solve issues with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to multi-task in a busy environment.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in organizational and administrative practices with a preference for experience gained in educational institution.
