WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER
The Finance Manager provides private awards management and general financial, accounting, and information management services for global conservation teammates and leaders. This includes collaborating on proposals; developing budgets and forecasts in coordination with the Zero Conversion Commodities (ZCC) team and in-region finance peers; tracking and analyzing actuals and variances; maintaining and supporting accounting activities and system processes; preparing financial reports for staff and donors; coordinating payables, contracts, sub-awards, and other agreements; and ensuring that best practices and organizational policies and commitments are met accurately and timely. They will provide a high level of private grant management and reporting expertise. They will be a primary point of contact for complex grants across multiple business units within the Conservancy. They will provide financial guidance and assistance to Conservation Managers regarding proposals, grants, reporting, and budget management. They will also respond to complex employee/management questions and problems based on advanced subject area knowledge. The Finance Manager will expeditiously and courteously respond to or route inquiries from internal and external customers. The duties of the Finance Manager may expand to support additional aspects of global programs, as requested.
WE'RE LOOKING FOR YOU
The Finance Manager Works toward meeting the program's strategic priorities by developing and coordinating tactics for approved plans and completing day-to-day tasks. The Finance Manager prepares financial reports for donors and manages the overall finances of initiatives in coordination with the project managers and workstream leads. The Finance Manager generates and analyzes monthly financial reports and data from the general ledger and other ad hoc financial reports, such as Labor Distribution Reports and monthly contract reports, and tracks spending rates. The Finance Manager ensures proper coding of expenses and that invoices are submitted and paid. The Finance Manager may review the financial reports of award sub-grantees. The Finance Manager prepares and delivers quarterly financial results and manages the project's forecast database and financial modeling. They prepare long-term financial sustainability analysis identifying funding needs and gaps, primarily on FTEs. They m nage in coordination with in-region peers FTEs database, tracking projected allocation of the team across multiple sources of funds. They actively participate in grant proposals, including renewals and budget preparation. They prepare accounting forms and reports; such as journal entries, cash receipt recordings, and adjustments, including payment of invoices which may include review of expense reports. They support contract/grant management processes for private funding and ensure compliance with TNC policies and procedures. They reinforce consistency in the organization's policies and procedures and provide support related to the relevant field. They may participate in complex negotiations and assist in internal audits. They can handle confidential payroll information of staff. They will collaborate with finance peers in other geographies, particularly Latin America. This position may mentor other finance staff working on the project. They contribute to annual and multi-year budget planning per organizational guidelines. Some travel may be required, as well as flexibility with working hours.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field and four years of related experience or equivalent combination.Experience with relational databases and creating/managing moderate to complex Excel spreadsheets, workbooks, and financial models.Technical experience with general accounting practices and grants/award accounting issues.Experience using accounting and financial reporting systems and preparing customized reports.Experience with regulations related to grants and contracts.Experience with PowerPoint presentations to give cross-functional team financial presentations about the project.Experience working with cross-functional teams across multiple organizational levels.Experience working independently and jointly with colleagues on a team.Experience in full-cost budgeting.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Fluency in Portuguese is highly desirable.Non-profit accounting experience preferred.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ease relating to diverse clients.Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.Experience in manipulating, analyzing, and interpreting data.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent interpersonal skills and experience building effective relationships at all organizational levels.WHAT WE BRING

SALARY INFORMATION
This position may be based in any country where TNC has an established entity, taking into consideration legal restrictions, such as non-national ratios and immigration processing times. For U.S. based applicants only, the starting pay range for this position in Arlington, VA is generally within the range of $81,800 - $110,600 for annual base salary and is based on location, qualifications, specific skills, and experien
