JOB SUMMARY
The Center for Advanced Engineering Education (CAEE) in the College of Engineering seeks dynamic and team-oriented candidates for a full-time Finance and Program Coordinator (Educational Program Coordinator) position. The successful candidate will be open-minded, collaborative, and flexible in addressing the needs of a growing College with diverse needs. Reporting to the Director of the CAEE, the Finance and Program Coordinator position requires an individual with strong fiscal and administrative abilities who will be responsible for programmatic and financial operations for the CAEE.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Serves as the coordinator for all College of Engineering CAEE programs, including processing and maintaining necessary paperwork, records, and files.Compiles data and prepares reports to aid in evaluating program effectiveness; produces ad hoc enrollment and financial reports as needed.Generates monthly budgetary reports and prepares annual budgetary reports as well as other required financial reports throughout the year.Provides year-end budget reconciliation and department financial transactions.Executes invoicing to third-party partners and professional enhancement CAEE clients; processes payments from students and companies each semester.Responds to inquiries from prospective and current students, as well as faculty and others regarding program policies, procedures, and requirements, making referrals as appropriate.Assists in advising students or participants regarding academic program planning and course selection, and explains program policies, procedures, and requirements.Provides a preliminary review of student applications in the University system for all Engineering departments, as well as centers and institutes that the College collaborates with.Serves as a liaison between the CAEE and other University offices.Processes special payroll hires each semester and supervises student employees.Performs related work as required.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree.At least four years of related experience.Strong and demonstrable knowledge of financial management, income and expenditure tracking, and accounting principlesDirect working knowledge of CRMS.Demonstrated organizational abilities.Demonstrated strong written and oral communication.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working in an academic setting.Demonstrated experience providing financial and administrative support in a team environment.Familiarity with enterprise systems such as Kuali Financial Systems, Core-CT, HuskyBuy, PeopleSoft, Slate, and Concur.Ability to expertly manage time and deadlines, and juggle multiple competing priorities.APPOINTMENT TERMS
This is a full-time, permanent position located on the Storrs campus. The University offers a full range of health/retirement benefits. Salary will be commensurate with the candidate's background and experience. Other rights, terms, and conditions of employment are contained in the collective bargaining agreement between the University of Connecticut and the University of Connecticut Professional Employees Association (UCPEA).
