The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

  Position Summary

  The Roger Lehecka Double Discovery Center (DDC) at Columbia College works with first-generation college bound youth from low income communities to ensure success going to, though, and beyond college. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Finance and Data Manager will provide oversight for the Center's fiscal and data management. The DDC funding portfolio consists of government, foundation, gift and institutional funding sources. The incumbent will develop, implement, and monitor efficient, high-functioning financial and data management infrastructures to support Double Discovery's mission-driven programs and that help support reporting and compliance requirements for the Center. The Finance and Data Manager will also hold a joint reporting relationship with the Columbia College Dean's Office via the Senior Associate Dean of Administration & Planning and work closely with the College's shared services teams.

  THIS IS A GRANT-FUNDED POSITION. CONTINUED EMPLOYMENT IN THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON ONGOING SUFFICIENT FUNDING.

  Responsibilities

  Financial Management:

  Develops, implements and maintains appropriate financial and operational practices and structures that are aligned with University, Columbia College, and external sponsor standards.Prepares and presents regular reports to track the Center's revenues and expenditures and to review budget versus actual results.Performs and presents trend analysis and forecasting of major revenue and expense areas to allow for more efficient and effective financial and programmatic decision-making including identifying potential shortfalls.Makes recommendations about spending patterns and proposals with the aim to help ensure the long-term financial health of the organization and applying resources to the Center's highest priorities.Drafts and reviews the annual budget submission with the Executive Director and Senior Associate Dean of Administration & Planning. Works closely with Columbia College Finance to finalize the submission and deliverables for the monthly/quarterly/fiscal year-end closing processes.Responsible for supporting the Executive Director/PI with pre-award and post-award grant activities. Prepares financial proposals and reports to support the Center's grant submissions and awards. Works closely with the Executive Director and Columbia College Finance on the administration of grants.Approves requisitions, journal vouchers, travel and business expense reports, and other financial accounting transactions for the unit; Works with Columbia College Finance and other departments regarding the Center's financial administration including problem-solving issues and clarifying processes as needed. Audits and approves Center-wide procurement and financial transactions.Implements, communicates, and manages the Center's financial procedures and financial controls in accordance with the policies and practices of the University, Columbia College, and external sponsors. Supports responses required for any audit requirements. Complies with University, federal, sponsor, policies and regulations in submission of documentation.Data Management:

  Oversees data practices and implements data management protocol to ensure data quality and accuracy of analytics and reporting as well as data security levels and access to data.Works with Leadership team to support Qualtrics activities (e.g. feedback surveys, registration, etc.), including the migration of survey data to and from other data systems (e.g. Salesforce, Blumen, etc.).Administration:

  Identifies, recommends, and implements changes to administrative processes and procedures to improve workflows. Creates and maintains up-to-date documentation of procedures (e.g. Center's procedure manuals, data management protocol, etc.).Supervises the department's Finance & Administrative Assistant. Minimum Qualifications

  Bachelor's degree required. A minimum of three-five years of fiscal and/or data management experience reflecting a successful record of accomplishment and a history of increased responsibility in support of an operating budget of $2 million. Demonstrated experience in strategic financial planning to inform organizational decision-making.Demonstrated proficiency with database management; software (e.g. Microsoft Word and Excel - including pivot tables).Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate persuasive arguments in writing and orally to motivate and influence people.A dedicated commitment to enhancing opportunities, particularly regarding college access and persistence, for low-income, first-generation college-bound students, and students from diverse ethnic backgrounds.Must be able to work some evenings and weekends (usually Saturdays from 9 am to 3 pm) when students are attending programs and for special events

  Must be able to work overnight, at least three nights, during the five-week residential Summer Academy

  Preferred Qualifications

  Strong preference for related financial analysis, grants management or operations experience in higher education, non-profit, and/or complex organization. Previous supervisory experience preferred.Experience with Tableau, Power BI, Qualtrics, Salesforce, etc. preferred.
