The Department of Radiology includes more than 80 full-time facultymembers, clinical associates, advanced practice providers, andpostdoctoral researchers. The Department of Radiology provides clinicalservices for the UCM Medical Center in Hyde Park, and Radiology Servicesat multiple locations in the Chicago and Chicagoland area. A traditionof excellence in patient care, basic, clinical, and translationalsciences, combined with the strengths of one of the world\'s topacademic institutions provides the foundation for a robust career in theUniversity of Chicago Medical System. The University of Chicago Medicineis a Level 1 Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center, a Comprehensive StrokeCare Center, and a referral center for numerous neurologic andotolaryngologic disorders.
Job Summary
Responsible for overseeing all of the day-to-day Department of Radiologyfinance, including related financial and PB billing, clinical entityfinances, and financials for CORE research areas. This includesreporting and variance justification, utilizing various analyticalresources (PB data-warehouse tables, Epic Hyperspace, Microsoft Excel,and Business Intelligence Tools (Tableau), collaborating withinstitutional offices to update and communicate financial practices andconcerns of the Department, providing applicable data as requested tointernal departments and external entities, and ensuring compliance toinstitutional fiscal policies.
Responsibilities
Manages the Department finance professional staff to ensure that thefinancial needs of the Department are being met.Oversees the annual operating and clinical revenue budgetsprocesses, working in collaboration with BSD Finance and Budgeting.Provides monthly accruals and budget variance, including variancesummaries and explanations.Oversees the production and maintenance of the monthly financialstatements, reports, recharge revenue reconciliation, and clinicalrevenue trends.Liaison with Research Administration and Clinical Trials teams toreconcile research accounts, including grant accounts, effortreporting, and cost transfers.Oversees the compliance with University financial policies, internalcontrols, and internal audit recommendations, including updatingDepartment fiscal policies, and educating faculty and staff onchanges.Responsible for gift and endowment accounts.Participates in BSD capital and procurement processes includingcapital projects.High proficiency in financial modeling and analysis, Budgeting,Microsoft Office - specifically Excel, and business systems (Oracle,SAP/BW, Workday as examples).Manages the development, monitoring, and evaluation of aconsolidated annual and intermediate (typically three to five year)budget plan and budget process for a unit, as well as actualperformance against budget.Manages the preparation of financial statements, activity reports,financial position forecasts, and/or reports required by regulatoryagencies.Manages the preparation of audits and value-add financial analysis.Advises senior management on financial reporting requirements.Performs other related work as needed.Minimum Qualifications
