  The Field Service Technician will be responsible for overdelivering on theinternal and external customer experience at our service locations. The idealcandidate will possess the technical acumen and the ability to provide astrong level of customer service. If you're able to think quickly on yourfeet, have a go-getter attitude, possess great communication skills, andhave a passion for adventure, then we want you on the team. You will beworking with our internal partners every day to assist with service needs andcoordinate with our Service, Vehicle and Delivery Operations, and FieldService Engineer teams. This role will require a dynamic and resourcefulleader with excellent oral and written communications skills, who willfoster cross functional interaction and champion a culture of continuousimprovement to support Service teams and customers within a Service center. Tobe successful in this role, you must have a customer-first approach,thrive in ambiguous and unexpected environments, tackling all challengeswith a creative and flexible mindset. Experience in automotive, processstandardization, continuous improvement, and managing escalations is a plus.Responsibilities

  Initially help support pre-production vehicle builds, including assistingcross functional teamsTravel to locations to support as required until the local Service Centeropens, including but not limited to, production plantOperate remotely until the local service center opens, if applicableFollow Rivian repair procedures with efficiency without compromising qualityand safetyPerform complex diagnosis, repairs, installations, and inspections on vehiclesPerform vehicle repairs in a setting outside of a service centerConduct road tests on vehicles to ensure quality of the repairPerform necessary parts operations such as parts ordering, receiving,shipping and inventoryStay up to date with technical skills and required trainingSupport campaigns and containment initiativesMaintain and process accurate expense reporting as neededMaintain high quality work and efficiency while working with littlesupervisionWork with a collaborative attitude and team spirit in an ever-changing,dynamic environmentProvide service support to the field to support the Service organizationAbility to perform duties and communicate with a high level ofprofessionalism, in a customer-facing environmentAdditional plant support, including travel, may be required depending onbusiness needQualifications

  HS Diploma or GED preferredGraduated from an accredited automotive repair school preferredExperience with leadership, mentorship, and influencing a team preferred5 or more years of automotive experience preferred3 or more years' experience working on vehicle high voltage systems and HVdiagnostic work preferredProficient in navigating a laptop or computer in a windows or Mac environmentExperience using test tools (PICO-Scope, PCAN, Kavaser Memorator,breakout box etc.)Extensive experience in bumper-to-bumper diagnosis and repairAbility to drive non-commercial truck and trailer preferredAbility to travel up to 75% of the time, or as neededMust possess a valid driver's license, and maintain a clean driving recordNo driving related suspensions or revocation of Driver License (within a3-5year period)Parts department and billing experience preferredExperience u ing a work order management system including repair documentationExperience working in start-up environments preferredRemains positive when dealing with difficult situationsStrong organizational and time management skills along with attention todetailPhysical exertion may be required to perform occupational tasks (sitting,standing, walking, bending, kneeling, carrying, reaching,pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.)Frequent use of hands for purposes of grasping and using tools correctly,entering data, writing communications, or calling customers or internalpartnerAbility to read and speak fluent EnglishAbility to see, read and interpret documents such as governmentalregulations, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions orschematicsMinimum age of 21Must be available for a regular schedule of 40 hours a week, includingweekends and holidays, according to business need.
