As a talented and team-oriented TOPTICA Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for a wide range of duties related to our laser systems in scientific and industrial applications with partners in bio-photonics, industrial metrology, and quantum technology industries. This hands-on work is direct customer support both in the North American Headquarters' office and at customer sites throughout North America.
Key job responsibilities:Field service of existing TOPTICA laser systems at existing customer sites.Installation of new laser systems at customer locations; regular travel will be required.Service and repair of laser systems in-house when needed.Technical and application troubleshooting with both internal and external customers.Periodic travel to TOPTICA's headquarters in Munich for training and product orientation
Required skills:Significant experience and skill in hands-on work with cw and/or ultrafast lasers and optical techniques.Must be able to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as an outgoing personality and a desire to interact with people.Must be able to lift and move 50 pounds.Unrestricted right to work in United States required
Education and training requirements:Practical experience installing and aligning optical systems.Understanding of optical principles and design.Knowledge of laser system design.Physics, electrical engineering, chemistry, or a related scientific degree is a must.
