SUMMARY: As the escalation point and subject matter expert,this role provides guidance and advice to the Career Distributionfunction and the field on Field Relations and human resources (HR)matters. The primary responsibilities include independently resolvingfield conduct-related complaints, consulting with various stakeholdersto interpret policies, and establishing strong relationships with FieldRelations Liaisons (FRLs) and Chief Operations Officers (COO/DOs).Primary Duties & Responsibilities: - Investigate and resolve fieldconduct-related complaints, regulatory inquiries, and distribution andcompliance issues referred from the field and home office, including theEthics Resource Center. - Contribute to the field culture strategy,reporting metrics to senior management and diversity & inclusionpartners. Identify trends and opportunities for training, policydevelopment, and implementation. - Provide counsel on escalated issuesto the performance team, field leaders, FRLs, and COO/DOs. - Leadstrategic projects related to Field Relations, involving policydevelopment, modifications, and implementation based on employment laws,company policies, and practices. - Develop and implement training,tools, systems, and templates to support effective execution of FieldRelations strategies and practices. - Manage the company\'s responses toregulatory changes and inquiries from state and federal agencies inpartnership with legal counsel. - Deliver company responses to claims,working collaboratively with legal counsel. QUALIFICATIONS: -Bachelor\'s degree and at least 7 years of management-level experiencein human resources, employee relations, compliance/supervision, orcareer distribution. - Strong strategic thinking, consulting,influencing, project management, and decision-making skills. - Extensiveknowledge of the company\'s culture, structure, and field force, withexperience working directly with the field and Northwestern Mutualpolicyowners/clients. - Demonstrated expertise in harassment,discrimination, and retaliation investigations. - Effectivecommunication skills, including delivering difficult messages andfostering consensus across departments. - Ability to build rapport,exercise tact, diplomacy, and resourcefulness when interacting withexternal and internal customers and regulators. Cultural competence,interpersonal savvy, and emotional intelligence are essential. - Strongproblem-solving, critical thinking, and assessment skills. - Ability tolead cross-departmental projects and negotiate/influence others. -Master\'s degree in industrial/labor relations, MBA, or JD preferred.Compensation Range: Pay Range - Start: \$80,920.00 Pay Range -...
