Requisition Number: 506589 About this position The Psychology Postdoctoral Fellowship at Blaze Health's Mental Health Services Center is a twelve-month, full-time appointment beginning and ending in mid-August. The Fellowship offers recent graduates of doctoral programs in clinical or counseling psychology the opportunity to expand the breadth of their clinical skills while earning the necessary supervised hours toward Minnesota State licensure. In a caring environment, the Fellow provides generalist psychology services such as individual and group counseling services and psychological testing to address a broad range of clinical needs typical in a hospital-based clinic population The Fellow may work with the Training Director/clinical supervisors to identify areas in which to develop advanced competency, such as trauma-focused interventions, group psychotherapy skills, clinical supervision, and/or psychological testing. The Fellowship offers extensive experience in direct clinical practice within a multidisciplinary clinic. The Fellow delivers both long and short-term psychotherapy to an outpatient population, and conducts intake assessments, consultation, and crisis intervention. The Fellow may also conduct group psychotherapy within Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Programming. Depending on the clinic need, the Fellow may provide clinical supervision to graduate-student counseling/psychology trainees and serve on the practicum or internship training committees. The Fellow assists with the development and delivery of faculty and student leader trainings and takes part in consultation with other mental health providers. Regular attendance and participation in the Psychology Training Committee expected. The Fellow receives individual and/or group supervision to meet Minnesota State licensing standards, including supervision of supervision services to trainees (as applicable). The Fellow will also receive support towards completing professional examinations necessary for licensure in the form of Education funds and available time off for study/preparation. What we'll expect from you * Provides clinical services including individual and group psychotherapy; crisis intervention; consultation and referral * Provides clinical supervision to graduate-level practicum student(s) and facilitates training opportunities for doctoral Psychology Interns. Education * Earned doctorate (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited program by the beginning of Fellowship start. * Graduating from an APA-accredited Internship Program preferred. Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities * Prior experience working within a healthcare setting are preferred. * Knowledge of evidenced based practices for inpatient/outpatient populations. * In depth knowledge of counseling theory and practice. * Must understand the impact of culture and individual difference within varied populations. * Demonstrated skills in developing and maintaining therapeutic relationships. * Ability to administer, supervise, consult on and interpret psychological and cognitive tests. * Ability to supervise and train psychology interns and practicum students. * Demonstrated skills and competency in consultation and staff training. * Demonstrated collaborative relationships with all members of the mental health and addictive service clinic as well as other clinical teams throughout the hospital. * Demonstrated skills in leadership and administration. * Demonstrated knowledge of research methodology and its influence on clinical practice. * Excellent communication skills. * Strong problem-solving skills. * Knowledge of evidenced based practices for outpatient populations.
