Weeding Job Description:
Weeding will include using a farm hand tool to remove weeds from fieldsand weed spraying.
Weeding Requirements:
*Ability to operate a hand sprayer
Irrigation Job Description:
Will repair and operate drip and furrow irrigation systems. Will move,set, and change siphon tubes.
Irrigation Requirements:
*Ability to drive. The drivers license is not a pre-hire jobrequirement.
*Ability to read and write English/Spanish.
*Basic math skills; ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.Physical strength to lift containers that weight up to 50 pounds.
Drip irrigation:
Assist in drip irrigation duties. Roll out and/or roll up drip hose.Repair and maintain drip hose and check for leaks and breakage. Flushdrip irrigation lines. Spread drip irrigation lines and tubes.
Spraying:
*Mix specified materials or chemicals, and dump solutions, powders, orseeds into planter or sprayer machinery.
*Spray fertilizer or pesticide solutions to control insects, fungus andweed growth, and diseases, using hand sprayers.
*Identify plants, pests, and weeds to determine the selection andapplication of pesticides and fertilizers.
*Attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvestersto tractors, using bolts and hand tools.
*Operate towed machines such as seed drills or manure spreaders toplant, fertilize, dust, and spray crops.
The employer attests that these workers will be properly trained bytheir supervisor who has a valid Private Applicators license which isthe standard pursuant to the Idaho State
Department of Ag (ISDA). Furthermore, their supervisor will be availableto ensure that workers understand all chemical labels, safetyinstructions, and application instructions
pursuant to ISDA. Workers will either have a valid pesticide license orbe supervised by someone with a valid pesticide license.
Additional Job Duties:
*Drive trucks to haul crops, supplies, tools, or farm workers.
*Operate trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to transport workersfrom housing (whether on or off farm) to the farm properties; haultools, supplies, or crops; transport workers from place to place aroundthe farm properties during the workday (including on public roads toreach farmer\'s fields); and/or transport workers to the grocery store,bank, or laundry facilities on an as-needed basis.
*Workers may drive company vehicles. Employees that want to be driversmust possess a valid drivers license and have a clean driving record (nomajor moving violations such as but not limited to Driving WhileIntoxicated or Reckless Driving). The drivers license is not a pre-hirejob requirement.
*Worker will prepare the land for agricultural use, including diggingand cleaning corrugates, and ditches.
GENERAL CONDITIONS: Field work begins at assigned time shortly afterdaylight. Work may be performed during light rain and in high humidityand in freezing or high heat
temperatures. The worker may be required to work in the orchard whentrees are wet with dew/rain and should have suitable clothing forvariable weather conditio s. Worker may be required to lift or loadobjects continually up to 60 pounds.
Full Growing Season Commitment: The worker agrees to be available forwork and perform the assigned work for the assigned employer through thefull period of employment.
