Farm workers are needed to harvest field nursery stock, deciduous and conifer trees, and shrubs. Prune all types and varieties of trees, which require climbing and ladders. Workers will harvest or dig trees which requires working on their feet and on hands and knees all day. Workers will spread herbicides and insecticides with a back sprayer weighing 60 pounds. Workers will repeatedly lift and carry materials weighing up to 60 pounds during the course of the day. Workers will take inventory and grade plants, prepare trees and shrubs for digging by tying or wrapping as necessary; wrap burlap or other covering around root balls and secure with twine and/or staples; crimp wire baskets; lift, carry and load nursery stock and trees onto trucks for transport; and unload, move or load supplies, including wire baskets. Hand dig (with shovel) nursery stock and trees. Prepare fields for planting by clearing cull stock, brush, and debris; plant seedlings or 'liners' by hand (including riding and inserting liners in a mechanical planter); load, unload or transplant bare-root nursery stock; straighten, tie, prune and shear trees and shrubs; cut, pull or remove and mow weeds or grass; move irrigation equipment; and apply fertilizer. Workers need to be able to drum lace ball and burlap trees and shrubs. The work will be done in Luce County, Michigan.

Work schedule is generally 48 hours per week, Monday through Saturday. Additional hours may be offered but not required.

Workers will be paid a minimum of $18.50 per hour.
