Qualifications and Education Requirements

　　Associates degree in related field with 3 or more years working with children and adults.Effective communication (oral and written),Strong interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.Responsible, self-motivated, and capable of handling multiple taskWorking knowledge of computers including Microsoft OfficeAbility to work independentlyWorking knowledge of community services

　　DUTIES and Responsibilities

　　Teach parenting/life skills to reduce risk and prevent placement or work towards reunification of families involved in the child welfare system.One on one working with parents on; life skills, hygiene, budgeting, transportation and barriers to reunification with their childrenTransporting parents and children as needed.Home visits with families as needed.Refer families as needed to appropriate community supporters and help connect to those services.Attend any planning meetings regarding the family and be available to testify when needed in court.Assist Family Time Specialist with observations and Family Time coverage.Complete all required documentation in timely and thorough manner.Assist and perform other duties as assigned and as are applicable to the position.

　　ADDITIONAL EXPECTATIONS

　　Must have valid NYS Drivers License, an acceptable driving record and adequate insurance.Must comply with all Agency policies and procedures.Required to understand and abide by the laws, regulations, policies, and procedures that apply to the program or service that you provide.Required to report any known or suspected violation of laws, regulations, policies, or procedures related to programs, services, agency operations, or personnel of the agency.Required to maintain accurate documentation including, but not limited to, purchase orders, petty cash, expenditures, mileage records, and time sheets.Attend all trainings as necessary for job performance.NYS, OMIG, LENS, VIRTUS background check clearances
