  Job Description:

  L3Harris is currently seeking an experienced Lead, Program Manager for the Airborne Mutli-Int Program group based out of Greenville Tx. AMI supports government contracts; both Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) and Foreign Military Sales (FMS), designing and integrating complex airborne mission systems.

  The Program Manager is responsible for managing contracts through all phases of the program from the bid and proposal, negotiation, award, and execution efforts with a cross functional team. The Program Manager is accountable for the cost, schedule, and technical performance and will be required to brief internal and external customer leadership on the status of the assigned contracts.

  Essential Functions:

  Direct the responsibilities and activities of the integrated program team (IPT) including program management, contracts, finance, engineering, operations, supply chain, security, and additional support functions, as required.

  Acts as the primary customer interface for program activities and leads program meetings/reviews with the customer and executive staff to communicate program status.

  Establishes execution milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules; and identifies challenges the team may encounter. Provide strategic direction, set priorities, and resolve day-to-day issues to achieve the cost and schedule objectives.

  Perform risk/opportunity/issue assessments, tracking, resolution, escalation, and closeout to ensure satisfactory program performance

  Develop innovative solutions to resolve difficult program challenges including cost, schedule, and technical performance

  Reviews potential changes in contract scope and advises management and customer of the impact.

  Coordinates and conducts modification, integration, and test activities; to include schedules, internal/external meetings and customer presentations as required, and prepares and manages departmental budget and expenses.

  Directs the work of functional employees in the execution of the assigned projects while establishing and monitoring performance to schedules, plans, and milestones.

  Responds to the customer's needs and be able to respond to quick reaction needs. As required, support request/coordination outside of normal business hours.

  In addition to position-specific work, as outlined above, the Program Manager may be asked act as a lead on special projects, providing leadership as a functional expert to represent the Program’s efforts. Examples include but are not limited to: New development products, new subcontractor relationships, obsolescence management, and continuous improvement.

  Qualifications:

  Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 9 years of prior relevant experience, or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience, or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience

  Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a top-secret security clearance, which requires US citizenship.

  Experience in Commercial and Military Aviation/Aerospace products development and test.

  Preferred Additional Skills:

  Demonstrated leadership capability and the ability to affect organizational change in challenging environments

  Demonstrated capability to think strategically and execute tactically

  Experience developing/integrating mission system on an aircraft or lab environment.

  Knowledge of manpower planning and forecasting, bids and proposals, milestone scheduling, PM tools, and related financial management.

  Experience with software development and systems integration processes.

  Experience with ISR subsystems strongly preferred.

  Experience supporting government contractor/DOD/Aerospace companies.

  Experience working within Earned Value Management System framework

  Compliance to and execution of policies, procedures and process.

  Drives continuous improvement. Skilled at evaluating and assessing the programs’ strengths and weaknesses to implement process improvements for overall program success.

  Strong project management skills, outstanding communication (both verbally and written), negotiation, organizational, time management, and leadership skills.

  Must be able to engage with and influence engineering, manufacturing, and management personnel.

  Capable of managing and working in an environment that is fast-paced, demanding, with a focus on problem resolution and process improvement.

  Proven team player with outstanding customer relationship skills.

  Solid interpersonal skills and the ability to lead specifically in an influence without authority position, positively influence, and train and develop direct reports, peers, and others.

  Excellent problem-solving skills and strategic thinker for the long-term benefit of the program.

  People-oriented -- enjoys interacting with people and working with cross functional teams.

  Adaptable/flexible -- enjoys working in a fast-paced environment on a development program.

  Detail-oriented -- pays attention to specific requirements, notice small mistakes, and is able to deliver high quality, accurate work.

  Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Project.

  Job Type: Full-time (9/80 work schedule)

  Work Location/Travel: Onsite (with ability to support remotely with approval). Travel expectation less than 20%.
