Family Services Representative
Summary Purpose for the Position:
Work in conjunction with the Section 8 Program to Assist low income individuals and families, which include homeless, disabled, minority group members and single parents, to secure permanent, affordable housing and provide case management services with the goal of an improved quality of life and self-sufficiency.
Requirements (Education, Experience, Certification, Knowledge, Skill):
Associate degree and one year of experience, or three years experience, in human services field.
Possess basic arithmetic skills, computer knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft word
Knowledgeable of housing programs guidelines and other available housing services

Position Responsibilities:
Responsible for maintaining all required records and for the preparation of all required reports
Builds working relationships to solve problem and achieve common goals
Work effectively and cooperatively with others sensitive to the needs of others
Offers assistance, support, and feedback to others
Reaches out to be helpful in a timely and responsive manner
Attend seminars as required
Work cooperatively with other agencies to ensure clients access needed services
Represent agency at meetings and participate fully
Maintain overall caseload of 75-100 participants
Maintain accurate files as assigned
Engages in problem solving: suggest ways to improve performance and be more efficient
Insure program compliance of participants.
Follow policies and procedures of Family Self-Sufficiency programs.
Shows commitment to work and to consequences of own actions
Maintain required records and prepare required reports
Interpretation, persuasion, conflict resolution, arbitration, written and verbal communication
Articulates and describe housing program guidelines and other available housing services.
Working Conditions/Environment:
Perform home visits which may involve some exposure to injury, hazardous materials, and/or infectious environments
Requires frequent repetitive office work, repetitive motions on the keyboard and frequent exposure to individuals at high risk of being infected with serious illness
Promotes cooperation and a welcoming environment for all.
Transportation Requirement:
Position requires automobile, driver’s license and insurance.
