This position performs technical and mechanical work that ensures the physicalaspects of the buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas of theproperty to meet the Company's standards for cleanliness, appearance,safety, and overall functionality. This position will also diagnose thecause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of facility equipmentand perform preventative and corrective maintenance.This is a 1st shift position.Pay range is $20.00 - $23.00 per hour depending upon experienceOperating as an independent division of the Bloomfield, CT-based KamanCorporation, Bal Seal Engineering is "a Kaman company." Essential Duties and Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL/MAJOR ELEMENTS OF POSITION
Maintains all equipment records per E1 preventative maintenance work ordersMakes general mechanical and minor electrical repairs to production andfacility equipmentRetrieves and orders spare parts and supplies as needed to accomplish work ina timely mannerEnhances the facility's preventative maintenance (PM) program throughrecommendations and suggestions for procedures or processesInspects and maintains facility equipment and repairs interior and exterior,or replaces defective partsManages and control company new/used chemicals and gas tanksMonitors, repairs and reports unsafe conditionsOccasionally, the incumbent will be asked and expected to perform variousmiscellaneous and non-standard duties as required. Such duties are diversifiedin nature and may be changed from time to time, to suite the business needsof the company.
Qualifications
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Necessary to Successfully Perform thisPosition:Good communication skillsAbility to use standard and electric tools (hammer, saw, measuring tape, etc)Ability to drive forklift and use other manufacturing equipment such as palletjack, power walkie, scissor lift, and laddersRead equipment manuals and make repairs as necessaryAbility to drive company vehicles by maintaining a valid driver licenseEducation Level Desired:High School Diploma or equivalent work experiencePrior Experience Desired:Minimum 3 years of experience in general facility maintenancePhysical Demands:Employee is regularly required to standThe employee is routinely required to walkThis position is occasionally sedentaryAbility to recognize and wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE)Employee regularly required to talk to others and to hear their responses.Occasionally will need to bend, stoop, squat and climbFrequent lifting and/or moving up to 10-20 pounds and occasionally liftand/or move up to 50 pounds, without assistanceRequired to reach with hands and arms to handle equipment and toolsVisual ability to safely complete job dutiesPosition requires the ability to think and respond at the level necessary toexecute the position essential functions
