Purpose and Essential Duties The Expediter will assist the jobsite team in increasing production level by thorough organization and planning of materials and supplies. Specific responsibilities include:
Fill fuel cans for job and fuel jobsite equipment.
Delivery of water coolers. Clean water coolers thoroughly and ensure the date is displayed on the outside.
Check with the Superintendent to schedule delivery of tool and equipment material.
Check delivery of material for discrepancies and notify the PM and or the superintendent.
Confers with Superintendent to determine overdue material and parts and to inform Superintendent of material status including backorder items.
Examine materials received, verify materials, and check for discrepancies between the delivery ticket and the MCC Tool and Material order form. Check for damaged or unmarked parts.
Compare work ticket specifications to materials used at workstations to verify appropriate assignment.
Tag all material going out to the field with Area, Name and Date.
Tag all material not being used as assigned to a Storage Area at the yard to be delivered at a later date and notify the foreman.
Check all consumable materials daily and keep adequate stock.
Keep up with empty oxygen and acetylene bottles and schedule bottle refills with the Superintendent or Project Manager.
Keep all storage areas clean and materials organized.
Return materials not being used to vendor when appropriate. Prepare and submit an inventory report of items to be returned to the Project Manager first.
Check and verify rented equipment with the vendor, obtain a confirmation number.
Inspect tools before they go out to the jobsite.
Get tool report from the Project Manager, set monthly date and hold inventory monthly after normal hours of operation. Check for out of order tools and extension cords. Bring back to the yard any damaged tools or extension cords. Submit report of inventory and findings to project management.
This position is Full Time, Non-Exempt, and reports to Expediter Foreman. Required Education, Experience and Qualifications
Knowledge of jobsite operations.
Basic knowledge of plumbing material, equipment, and tools.
Ability and experience driving a forklift.
Knowledge of supply operations, sequence and flow.
High level and consistent organizational skills required.
Ability to operate with little daily supervision and self-motivated.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Detail oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
Well versed in the industry and the Company’s competitors.
Excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to perform duties outside of scope of work when necessary.
Travel Requirements
Infrequent travel to Company or client locations.Percentage of Time Commitment
Jobsite expediting (moving materials, tagging, checking, preparing, etc.) – 50%
Receiving – 20%
Organizing Materials and deliveries – 20%
Safety – 10%
Key performance indicators
Maintained lay down yard.
Understanding and knowledge of materials (cast Iron, PVC, Copper, Pex and equipment).
Timely order pulling and deliveries.
Works with sense of urgency.
