　　The Role:

　　Newshub is looking for an energetic and dedicated Executive Producer to lead the production of Newshub Nation output working towards clear strategic goals to grow audience on linear and digital platforms.

　　Key Responsibilities:

　　Oversee the prodution and evolution of Newshub Nation content in 2024.Articulate growth strategy to Newshub Nation production team and ensure it is being executed across the week.Maintain relationship with Irirangi Te Motu/NZ On Air and ensure regular reporting requirements are met.Ensure production spend is in line with forecast budget and keep in close contact with NZ On Air about any potential risks.Intimately understand the audience profile for Newshub Nation and identify key audiences for growth.Lead regular debriefs of output and critically assess decision making and team functionality.Line management of the Newshub Nation producion team and presenter.Work collaboratively with legal counsel and senior newsroom leaders to ensure all stories are editorially and legally sound, and standards compliant.Engage with wider newsroom to maximise the potential of Newshub Nation content across Newshub's programmes and platforms.Play a role in weekly planning meetings to discuss roll out and treatment of different news storiesWrite and cut Openers, Playoffs and other programme elements to ensure they are enticing and interesting.Build rundowns for programmesThink creatively about the delivery of Newshub Nation output, continually striving for innovation and fresh ideas using all available production elementsOutput bulletins in the control roomSub reporter scriptsProvide feedback to producers, presenters & reporters to help them develop their craftMaintain an excellent relationship with key personnel both within the newsroom, particularly our Gallery staff and in the broader Discovery ANZ teamThe Employee shall ensure they are familiar with the Employer's health and safety policies and procedures, and any modifications to those policies and procedures that may be introduced from time to time.Carry out your work safely and without endangering or causing harm to yourself, fellow staff members, contractors, customers, visitors, or the general public.Other duties as required.The Company may, after fair and reasonable consultation, change your duties, from time to time, for commercial reasons but not so as to substantially change the nature of the position.

　　Qualities Required:

　　Tertiary level qualification or equivalent industry experience of 5+ yearsA passion for politics and strong contacts in parliamentA proven record of success in producing television news programmesExperience successfully managing a teamAbility to develop and execute an audience strategyStrong organisational skillsExcellent editorial nousA generator of original ideas who strives to lead the news agendaIn depth knowledge of New Zealand news and current affairsExcellent knowledge of laws governing defamation, libel and other applicable legal issuesExcellent knowledge of Broadcasting Standards Authority rules and guidelinesWilling to take direction and also to encourage and advise less experienced journalistsA generous team member who appreciates individual and business successesAbility to work to tight deadlines and perform effectively under pressureClose attention to detailUnderstanding of and engagement with digital platforms including social networksMaintains excellent collaborative and professional relationships both internally and externallyStrongly committed to creating an environment where all employees are included, are treated with dignity and respect and are in a position to contribute to our future success.Understanding of and engagement with digital platforms including social networksCompetitiveness to drive constant improvement
