Position Summary:
Duties performed are of a complex and varied clerical/technical nature supporting the Advancement and Alumni Relations office in the gift entry department.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED.
Four years of qualifying experience or a combination of education and experience that equates to four years.
Experience with Microsoft Word.
Customer service experience.
Spreadsheet and/or database experience.
Organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
Demonstrated positive interpersonal skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to project a positive attitude.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with accurate results.
Ability to compose, proofread and edit correspondence.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education related to business.
Knowledge of specific software programs and/or mainframe systems (Excel, Access, SAP).
Knowledge of the Millennium database program.
Experience with IRS non-profit gift acceptance regulations.
Knowledge of CASE gift reporting guidelines and standards.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Prepares daily deposits of any incoming checks and cash receipts.
Retrieves and records online giving distributions and lockbox donations.
Processes credit card donations manually as needed.
Processes basic gift entry for all payment methods, functioning as backup for PBS gift entry when needed.
Prepares and distributes gift acknowledgments and receipts.
Completes gift entry journal entries in SAP.
Prepares and distributes gift activity reports as requested.
Performs donor record manipulation and information searches with the university's donor database for the Advancement team.
Creates new database accounts approved by Gift Acceptance Processes & Standards (GAPS).
Completes special projects as assigned.
