WGNO is searching for a solid Executive Producer to lead our Good Morning New Orleans team. We want someone who can handle Breaking News and keep things compelling during downtime. As a key part of our crew, the EP will work closely with producers, directors, reporters, and anchors to deliver great content, live shots, and killer shows.
The Morning Executive Producer will focus on recruiting and training producers. We're not just looking for a manager; we need someone who can coach and lead the team effectively.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages staff to produce news content for 2.5 hour morning show and 11am newscastImplement strategies to improve product and ratingsHelps with decision making of broadcast/digital coverage, content and execution of show, graphics and efficiency of workflowCollaborates with other news managers on editorial decisions, coverage ideas and special projectsWorks with reporters, assignment desk, producers to determine story selection, direction, format, graphics, pace and flow of newscastKeeps team informed of developmentsEdits rundowns, scripts, and packagesMay fill in as line producerRepresents and enforces station policy in resolution of situations that may ariseRegularly provides feedback to staff and managers in formal and informal performance evaluationsOther duties as assignedEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in Journalism or related field is desired.Minimum 3 years experience as TV line producer or executive producerREQUIREMENTS/JOB SKILLS:
Must be creative, nimble with technology, have thorough knowledge of newsroom workflow and be versatile with producing news content for both broadcast and digital platforms.Must demonstrate excellent leadership and motivational skills.Must be well-organized and an effective communicator, both oral and written.Must be able to manage, mentor, and train producers.Must be able to direct the efforts of on-air reporters and anchors.Must be able to operate as a team member as well as a team leader.Must be able to take suggestions, participate in decision-making, and be flexible in recognizing various points of view.Must be willing to participate in station sponsored projects to enhance its image or help the community.Must be capable of interacting productively with other employees of the station.#LI-Onsite
