As sunlight nurtures new life, we take the donor gift and transform it into a new hope, bringing the light of healing to patients in our local hospitals through blood donations and to patients around the globe in need of tissue transplants.Because we believe that everyone deserves more time to live life to its fullest.PRIMARY PURPOSE:The primary purpose of the Executive Director of Manufacturing is to lead the department in developing, directing, and implementing activities for the purpose of ensuring daily operations are effective and efficient. The role actively supports the organization's needs, structures goals, and designs key performance indicators.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Manage the complete employee life cycle, including selection, training, supervision, evaluation, and counseling.Coach and motivate staff for efficient manufacturing operations, deploy continuous improvement initiatives, assign tasks, and review team performance.Ensure comprehensive management of department employees, from recruitment and training to evaluation, development counseling, and discipline.Oversee the seamless transfer of product design to manufacturing using internal and external resources.Oversee procedures, reports, and activities to enhance accuracy and identify opportunities for process improvement.Collaborate with the Vice President and direct reports to monitor external and internal changes, developing long-term plans accordingly.Performs additional duties as assigned.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEBachelor's Degree required, with a strong preference for candidates in the Engineering field.Must have a minimum of five years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing, with a preference for medical device or biologic manufacturing.Experience in LEAN manufacturing or similar improvement processes.Proficiency in current Good Manufacturing Practices, especially in medical device manufacturing.Previous experience managing external suppliers and development partners.WORK ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL ACTIVITIESMust be able to work around high magnet circuits or magnetic fields.When working in the Core, will require extensive standing.Must be able to meet the required physical demands with or without reasonable accommodation.We Offer:A highly competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life and supplemental insurance, 401(k) with employer contribution and match, and generous paid time off (PTO) - up to 5 weeks in your first year!About SolvitaWe began in Dayton in 1964 as the region's first centralized blood bank.
