About Executive Assistant, Global Public Policy

  Description

The AWS Global Public Policy (GPP) organization is looking for an experienced, inquisitive, and motivated Executive Assistant with a proven history of high performance and the ability to operate under pressure, to support our Vice President of AWS GPP in Seattle, WA. The candidate wants to work in a fast-paced and exciting team.

This role requires the ability to complete high volumes of complex tasks and projects quickly with little to no guidance. The candidate must have a relentless bias for action, a strong ability to effectively communicate at all levels, have strong prioritization skills, be detail oriented, highly efficient, and very organized. A high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information and professionalism in dealing with senior executives inside and outside the company is a must. The candidate must have a demonstrated ability to manage complex calendars, coordinate domestic as well as international travel, process expense reports, organize government delegation visits to Amazon HQ and HQ2, update organizational charts, support budget management, and act as a general liaison for the VP and larger GPP organization.

  Key job responsibilities

Experience working on a global team is an asset. Ultimately, this role is the first-person individuals from a far-flung global teams encounter when engaging with headquarters. They are a resource and liaison, showcasing soft diplomacy. In this role, you will:

Have an exceptional ability for anticipating the needs and preferences of the VP. Be able to independently resolve escalations and not rely heavily on the leader's direction for daily decisions.

Cultivate the potential for empathy, critical thinking, and a desire to understand others.

Document processes as you learn them for future reference.

Possess impeccable scheduling skills in order to strategically organize meetings, events, and tasks to optimize the VP's time and keep productivity at high levels. Demonstrate strong prioritization skills and be able to juggle multiple tasks or projects.

Proactively coordinate with leadership and the GPP HQ Support team in planning events, team offsites and/or summits, activities, and calendars.

Support government delegation visits to Amazon HQ and/or HQ2.

Oversee GPP-wide Diversity, Equity & Inclusion initiatives.

Track and help drive completion of key deliverables and follow up on outstanding items.

Partner with other assistants throughout the team and across the rest of the company, and work in a dynamic and multi-cultural environment.
