  As an EV Software Controls Engineer for  (A Shyft Group Brand) based at our R&D facility in , you will be accountable for developing, implementing, and testing EV controls software and hardware and for creating component and system-level design and release documentation for our electric vehicle systems.Additionally, your role as Senior EV Software and Controls Engineer will be instrumental in shaping the future of how electric specialty are designed, built, and delivered.Relocation assistance is available for non-local candidates.You will also be accountable for:Developing, implementing, and testing of EV controls software and hardwarePerforming controls strategy development and verification for electric vehicle components and systemsDesigning improvements to existing and future EV software systemsBuilding and modifying Simulink code to run on a real-time embedded targetInterfacing with the production team to resolve engineering change requestsParticipating in component selection and verification activitiesCreating manufacturing, assembly, and service-related documentationExpand your knowledge of  and  by exploring the Learn More section below.What you need to be successful

  Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related6+ years of expertise in controls systems engineering or software engineering in the automotive6+ years of MATLAB/Simulink experienceAbility to read engineering drawings, prints, schematics, and diagramsExperience writing embedded applications on microcontrollersFamiliar with CAN and the J1939 protocolExperience writing C++ and Python (preferred)Knowledge of wire harnesses and automotive electrical systemsUnderstanding of basic electric vehicle systems and operations (preferred)Learn MoreThe content below is exclusively available on our careers site job description:The Shyft Group
