  THE POSITION

Wernersville State Hospital is seeking an equipment operator to support the maintenance and operation of the facility. Join the Wernersville State Hospital team with this exciting career opportunity!   DESCRIPTION OF WORK

  As an Equipment Operator A, you will be responsible for operating equipment with a gross vehicle weight of up to 32,000 pounds. You will drive vans, buses and other vehicles to ensure the safe and efficient transportation of our consumers, staff, equipment and supplies on and off campus; operate construction equipment such as tractors, dump trucks, skid loaders, and snow plows; and perform general maintenance and cleaning to equipment when necessary.

  Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  Full-time employment

  Work hours are as follows:

  6:45 AM to 2:45 PM

  7:00 AM to 3:00 PM

  8:00 AM to 4:00 PM

  Work schedule includes working every third or fourth weekend, with 30-minute lunch.

  Overtime as needed and subject to emergency call-ins

  Work schedule may change based on operational need.

  REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

  QUALIFICATIONS

  Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  Six months experience in the operation and maintenance of large vans, buses and single-chassis trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 10,001 pounds or more; or

  Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

  Special Requirements:

  You must be in possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license.

  Condition of Employment:

  This position requires the selected candidate to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within the probationary period.

  Legal Requirements:

  A conditional offer of employment will require satisfactory completion of a medical examination.

  This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.

  Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
