Summary This Equal Employment Manager position is within the Director's Office at the Bedford VA Healthcare System, located in Bedford, MA. It is full time at 40 hours per week. Responsibilities This position serves as the Equal Employment Manager with full responsibility for establishing, organizing, and directing an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Program that provides services to a region. Duties include, but are not limited to: Informs and advises management officials and employees on EEO program requirements; Provides quality EEO products and services, advice and direction on issues related to the administration and management of an EEO program and the impact of organization policies, plans, practices and decisions on personnel; Manages the complaint program to include, intake, counseling, mediation, coordination and compliance; Serves as the principal advisor to the organizational leadership and staff for a region by providing expert advice on all matters related to the EEO program on the feasibility and impact of EEO plans, policies, and decisions; Provides leadership, advice and counsel to line and staff managers/supervisors in the development and implementation of the organization's affirmative action plan; Coordinates EEO activity with the Human Resources Office(s) staff and establishes and maintains effective contacts with community elements interested in equal opportunity; Assures formal complaints are processed within established time limits and in accordance with published regulations and policies; Assigns, directs, and reviews the equal employment opportunity program work of collaterally assigned or subordinate employees; Recommends changes in program methods and approaches based on evaluation results; and Other duties as assigned.
