DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs an Epidemiologist Manager, you will supervise and manage a multidisciplinary team comprised of epidemiologist supervisors, epidemiologists, epidemiology research associates, infection preventionists, nursing consultants, data analysts, program and project managers, and ancillary staff working within the Healthcare-associated Infection Prevention and Antimicrobial Stewardship (HAIP/AS) program.
You will supervise and manage epidemiologists planning and directing HAI investigations/studies, and advise on complex, multi-state or statewide investigations/studies while coordinating with federal, state, and local health partners on appropriate follow up activities related to HAIs to protect the public. You will also direct the writing of grant applications, serves as the lead in the development of grant applications and ensure metrics and deliverables are being met in accordance with funding objectives.
In this position, you will direct and lead education and outreach to the public, professional groups, and others on health issues related to HAIs. This includes fostering collaborative relationships with inter-Department and external partners, including the PA Patient Safety Authority, the Quality Innovation Network, the Hospital Improvement and Innovation Network, the Hospital and Health System Association of Pennsylvania, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and Centers for Disease Control to facilitate attainment of department goals.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employment.Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 1-hour lunch.Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:One year as an Epidemiologist Supervisor (Commonwealth of PA job title); orPossession of either a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) degree, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in epidemiology, Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD), Osteopathy (DO), Dental Surgery/Medicine (DDS/DDM/DMD), or Veterinary Medicine (DVM); AND four years of professional experience investigating disease outbreaks, designing and conducting epidemiologic studies, or designing and maintaining a disease surveillance system; orPossession of a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in a biological science such as biology, genetics, nursing or virology; AND either a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree or Master of Science (MS) degree in epidemiology; AND four years of professional experience investigating disease outbreaks, designing and conducting epidemiologic studies, or designing and mainta ning a disease surveillance system.Other Requirements:
