JOB REQUIREMENTS: Overview Responsible for total sanitation, floor care,preparation and organization of patient rooms, floors, bed set-ups, andancillary areas. Responsibilities Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for thorough cleaning of assigned areas including, but notlimited to, furniture, tile, fixtures, windows, sinks, tubs, toilets,mirrors, showers, etc. Perform high and low dusting of TV\'s, lights,walls, mop floors, elevators and stairs, clean door frames, ceilingvents, and vacuum carpet, etc. Adhere to all organizational policies andprocedures. Observes all isolation procedures and Infect PreventionStandards. Is knowledgeable on correct chemicals used for differentpathogens. Maintains EVS closet, EVS cart, and all equipment in a neatand orderly manner. Reports any safety hazards or equipment in need ofrepair to supervisor and/or Facilities. Maintain correct amount ofsupplies. Is knowledgeable on correct chemicals used for differentpathogens. Replenishes paper, soap supplies, hand sanitizer. Hangscubicles/drapes according to department policy. Special projectassignments, including coordinating specifics such as; contactingaffected departments to advise of upcoming project (i.e. constructionprojects, wall cleaning, drapes, changing cubicles, window washing,etc.), and post informational signs. Moves furniture, supplies andequipment as requested adhering to departmental safety and liftingprocedures. Seeks assistance when in doubt. Responsible for properlymixing and storing chemicals to achieve correct dilution ratio. Usesproper personal protective equipment including safety goggles whenneeded. Reads directions carefully and asks supervisor when in doubt.Uses wet floor signs, etc. to block off work area. Makes beds inaccordance with specific area needs. Is knowledgeable and can identifyvarious bed types. Utilizes bed tracking phone/pager, places bed in EPICand removes when bed has been completed. Responds to phone/pager callfrom supervisor within 5 minutes. Reports phone/pager problems tosupervisor. Logs out of EPIC. Ensures dismissal rooms are ready for thenext patient. Uses Xenex UV Light robot for specified rooms whereavailable. Returns soiled and clean unused mops to department and placesin proper containers/areas. Adheres to all applicable regulations andstandards. Adheres to proper handling, transport and disposal of allwaste types, including but not limited to: hazardous, infectious,sharps, confidential, recycling, regular trash, universal. Complete DOTCertification in order to package and transport regulated medical waste.Asks supervisor or lead when in doubt.
