　　Job role:            Environmental Services Manager

　　Queensway, Long Term Care is located within the heart of Huron County, a lovely rural community a short distance from the shores of Lake Huron/Grand Bend; 45 minutes from the city of London and Stratford. There are many activities and special events to enjoy:     beach life, year-round camping and outdoor activities at Pinery Provincial Park, attractions such as Flea/Farm Markets along with a variety of restaurants in ‘Ontario’s West Coast.’

　　The following is a list of tasks within the scope of the Environmental schedule:

　　Maintenance needs – i.e. plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, drywall, etc.

　　Supervision of contractors ensuring work meets requirements and standards; 

　　Responsible for monthly/yearly budget (inventory, supplies and equipment needs);

　　Policy compliance and leading potential new initiatives and projects;

　　Management Leadership with Health and Safety Committee; 

　　Managing laundry, housekeeping and maintenance;

　　Liaison with staffing needs - hiring, performance management and scheduling;

　　The ideal candidate for this role will have the following:

　　Environmental Services Certificate in a recognized program;

　　Two or more years of management experience within long-term care or similar role would be considered an asset;

　　Experience managing employees in a unionized environment;   

　　Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act;

　　Knowledge of the Long Term Care Homes Act is an asset; 

　　Demonstrated experience with building maintenance and upkeep;

　　Excellent interpersonal, project and time management, and communication skills;

　　A pro-active and positive attitude with the ability to adapt to a changing environment;
