About Environmental Justice Internship

  The Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs seeks to protect, preserve, and enhance the Commonwealth’s environmental resources while ensuring and promoting a clean energy future for the state’s residents. Through the stewardship of open space, protection of environmental resources, and advancement of climate resilience and environmental justice, the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs works tirelessly to make Massachusetts a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family. Who We Serve: Massachusetts was the first state in the nation to combine energy and environmental agencies under one Cabinet secretary. The Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (“EEA”) serves Commonwealth residents interested in outdoor recreational activities, clean energy solutions, and those who work with animals and livestock. Equally, EEA works with energy consumers, power companies, clean energy providers, riders of public transit, farmers, and with cities, towns and organizations, and environmental justice populations to delicately balance the interaction with environmental protection laws and regulations while being a cornerstone for our economic prosperity. The Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs seeks applicants for the position of Contracted Student Intern. The Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs’ Office of Environmental Justice and Equity (Office of EJ&E) has paid college internship positions open for January - June 2024. The Office of EJ&E advances high-profile environmental justice and equity strategies and initiatives. We seek experienced, resourceful, and passionate interns to join our team. Gain valuable professional experience, expand your resume, apply your ideas, advance your knowledge, further develop key skills and competencies, and learn and grow. Paid internship responsibilities include the following: • Assist with research for diverse projects • Draft presentations • Conduct data analysis • Assist with writing grants • Support the Office of EJ&E Team as needed Paid Internship Program details: • Hours: Approximately 15-25 hours per week • Virtual: Yes • Hybrid: If possible, one day a week in the office to participate in certain meetings • Salary: $21-28/Hour based on experience and skills • Prerequisite: Experienced researcher and grant writer First consideration will be given to those applicants that apply within the first 14 days.
