EnvironmentalHealthDepartment Manager
The Manager will support and manage Environmental Health Specialists to develop cooperative working relationships with the community and other regulatory agencies to protect public health and promote sound environmental practices. Provideinformation to the publicregardingfood safety, recreational health, and other Environmental Health programs.

Serveasasubject matterspecialist andassistwithprogramdevelopmentinassignedareatoincreaseefficiency
Facilitatestafftrainingwithintheirrespectiveprogramarea
Provideadvicetotheinspectingstaffonbestpracticesandregulations,includingwhentheyare inthefield
Developproceduresandpracticestoprovideconsistency ofoperations andincreaseaccuracy
InformtheLeadershipTeamofupcomingregulatorychanges,programneeds,andsuggestedimprovements.
Enforcehealthandsafetyregulationsforvariousestablishments
Periodically conduct follow up inspections to ensure the program isprovidingthe best services to our clients
The department manager willbe responsible forevaluatingthe program staff and help them set and complete goals as required by Bureau Veritas

What you'll Bring:
Any combinationofeducation,training andexperience thatwouldprovidean opportunitytoacquiretheknowledgeand abilitiesstatedherein.This would include graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in environmentalhealth scienceor related subjectsas required bystate.Law.Twoyears ofworkinglevel professionalexperience in thefield of environmentalhealth and safetyregulation andenforcement (e.g.workingasa Registered EnvironmentalHealthSpecialist,aRegistered Sanitarian, anEnvironmental Sanitarian, a Public HealthSanitarian, a Certified Environmental Health Professional, or asan equivalently recognized profession.
One yearofexperienceworkingin the environmentalhealth andsafetyfield isrequired.Additionalcertificatedcourseworkin aspecialtyarea is necessary.
License:PossessionofavalidcertificateofregistrationasanEnvironmentalHealthSpecialistasrequiredbytheStateofTexas'sHealthandSafetyCode.
Possession ofa validdriver'slicense toperform the essential job functions of the position.
Thoroughknowledgeof:
Sanitation science, requirements andprocedures andthemethods andprocedures usedininspecting,investigatingandcorrectingunsanitary orhazardous conditions; federal,stateand local laws and regulations governing environmental health and safety; principles and practices of public health; hazardous materialsmanagementand emergencyresponseprotocols; current methods, means and technologiesused for training in the environmentalhealth field. Candidate should beorganizedandcarry out researchtoanalyze and evaluatedata,andmake recommendationsbased onfindings; detect unsanitary conditions and public health hazards andsecure their correction through education, voluntarycomplianceor legal enforcement. Establish andmaintaineffective relationshipswith Cityofficials, the public, and administrative andprofessionalpersonnel.
