The Phlebotomy Technician is responsible for taking blood samples from patients. The duties include preparing patients to have blood drawn, and drawing blood safely from patient. The Phlebotomy Technician must know proper way to label the specimens after the completion of drawing of blood. The Phlebotomy Technician will work a 40 hr. week and will rotate between day, evening and night shift according to the needs of the unit and staff. The phlebotomy technician is expected to function within the scope of approved policies, procedures, and regulations for the department and organization. Must be able to work in a professional non-defensive manner with peers, physicians, administration, patients and visitors. Attendance to yearly mandatory education requirements is non-negotiable and will be the responsibility of the employee to arrange and attend sessions.
