ICF seeks an Environmental Data Validation Chemist to join our team of environmental professionals to support an EPA contract, the Environmental Services Assistance Team (ESAT) for EPA Region 5.

This position will be on call and remote (within the continental United States)

As an Environmental Data Validation Chemist, you will be responsible for evaluating and validating environmental laboratory analytical data for compliance with method and program/project QA/QC requirements. Reviews of laboratory-reported data will be conducted following EPA’s National Functional Guidelines or regional SOPs, as directed. Duties will include preparing written reports and editing electronic data in the cloud or through electronic file transfer to incorporate validation qualifiers, as well as reviewing the work of others doing similar work (i.e., technical or peer review), and the review of regional QA documents (QAPPs, SAPs etc.). The successful candidate must be able to work both independently and as a member of a team of chemists and technicians.

The position primarily allows for remote work, however, there is an opportunity for the selected candidate to attend in-person team activities and meetings at the client facility in Chicago, Illinois upon occasion, if they are within reasonable traveling distance and express interest in doing so.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related degree

2+ years of experience in organic and/or inorganic analysis or quality control using CLP, SW-846 and other EPA methods or ISO/NELAP requirements.

Ability to work remotely (i.e., experience using collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams, maintaining joint calendars, schedules, or files).

Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel and Adobe Acrobat to create and edit documents/files.

Must be authorized to work in the United States of America, per federal contract requirements.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

Laboratory experience with EPA methods and laboratory for the analysis of organic and inorganic constituents and contaminants is preferred.

Experience applying QA/QC requirements, for data review is a plus.

Experience writing, reviewing, or implementing quality assurance plans (QAPs), sampling and analysis plans (SAPs), and related documents.

Experience reviewing/validating data from other methods/programs is desirable.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:

$57,737.00 - $98,153.00
