  An environmental permitting specialist is responsible for preparing and obtaining environmental permits from local, state, and federal regulatory agencies. Additional responsibilities are to conduct reviews on permit applications and provide regulatory guidance. Your duties in this career include preparing environmental assessment reports, conducting field inspections, and participating in project meetings. You communicate with clients to gather information and provide recommendations. You also assist with project plans and schedules, and you may serve as the contact point between clients, project teams, and regulatory agencies.

  The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  The Environmental Consultant will provide technical and regulatory direction and support

  Prepare applications for local, State and federal permits

  Permit acquisition for all required permits

  Communication with mine planning team

  Project plans and schedules

  In depth knowledge of Florida and Georgia regulations, policy and procedures associated with Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and mine permitting.

  Maintain strong working relationships with regulatory agencies and key stakeholders.

  Managing the preparation of applications and technical documents

  Developing, maintaining, and managing the site permitting in accordance with out Mining Team.

  Remain current with and emerging federal, state, and local environmental regulatory requirements affecting site operations and proposed rule changes.

  Coordination and participation in first, second-, and third-party audits.

  Drive and maintain continuous improvements of the site EHS managing processes and procedures.

  Participate and lead site incident investigations to address/ determine root causes, key factors, and corrective actions.

  Managing the preparation of applications and technical documents, as needed

  Developing, maintaining, and managing the Permitting Plan in accordance with Project Schedules

  Proactively identifying, communicating, and managing risks that may otherwise impact delivery of cost and schedule of permit acquisition schedule.

  The following is required for this role:

  BS or higher degree in environmental science, engineering, or other relevant discipline.

  Minimum 5 years permitting experience in Florida and Georgia preferred.

  Demonstrated experience in managing permitting applications and projects from start to finish.

  Demonstrated experience with a range of environmental regulatory programs relevant to industrial operations.

  Relevant regional experience in preparing applications and obtaining permits within a variety of departments in Florida and Georgia.

  The following is preferred for this role:

  Knowledge of and experience with one or more aspects of water management, such as hydrology, hydrogeology, aqueous chemistry, aquatic biology, and/or wastewater and stormwater management is preferred.

  Excellent written and verbal communication, time management, organizational, and interpersonal relationship skills.

  The successful candidate will be a self-starter who can work independently with minimal day-to-day supervision. Additionally, the successful candidate will be one who can multi-task, and effectively deal with fast changing and sometimes conflicting priorities

  AutoCad/Arc GIS or other mapping program beneficial

  Proficient in Microsoft office.

  Pay Range (in local currency):

  $93,184.00 - $145,600.00

  Chemours Level:

  25

  Annual Bonus Target:

  8%

  The pay range and incentives listed above is a general guideline based on the primary location of this job only and not a guarantee of total compensation. Factors considered in extending a compensation offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, and alignment with market data. The incentive pay is dependent on business results and individual performance and subject to the terms and conditions of the specific plans.
