  Job Description:

  Idaho Power (IPC) — located in vibrant Boise, Idaho — is looking for an Environmental Compliance Professional or Senior to join our Investor Relations, Compliance, and Risk team.   While this position is based at Idaho Power’s downtown Boise location, frequent travel to Idaho Power’s Twin Falls and Pocatello areas will be required. We offer both flexible schedules and the opportunity to work up to 40% remote. Relocation assistance may also be provided to the successful candidate.

  This position will primarily focus on waste management and compliance tasks associated with IPC’s facilities throughout the service area. Familiarity with reviewing, interpreting and implementing the RCRA, DOT, FIFRA, TSCA, and CERCLA regulations is essential. Tasks may include, but not be limited to, the following: performing site visits to facilities through the service area and working with local IPC personnel and contractors to evaluate, enhance, or create programs that advance IPC compliant culture. Evaluating construction projects for potential environmental considerations, conduct or participate in sampling activities related to waste and/or construction projects. Respond to oil spills or other emergencies that occur within the regions. Collect data, review, prepare and submit reports for annual waste generation, Tier II, and other regulatory required reporting. Conduct in personnel training associated with SPCC, oil and PCB clean up, and hazardous materials transportation. Evaluate chemicals for use at IPC locations to determine end of life management.

  What does an Environmental Compliance Professional do for us?

  They assist in the development and implementation of Idaho Power's environmental compliance program. They will develop knowledge and expertise that will be used to assist Idaho Power’s business units with incorporating compliance obligations into their day-to-day work activities.

  What does a Senior Environmental Compliance Professional do for us?

  They provide programmatic leadership and regulatory, strategic, and policy advice to support Idaho Power’s business objectives and to foster a culture of compliance. They utilize knowledge and expertise in the review, development, and implementation of Idaho Power's environmental compliance program. They support interaction between Idaho Power and regulatory agencies. Their work will also include acting as the company's subject matter expert in one or more of the following areas: CAA, CWA, RCRA/DOT TSCA, ATF, CERCLA.

  MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  Environmental Compliance Professional

  Education:

  Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Business, Engineering, Public Administration, Law, or related fieldOR

  An equivalent combination of training, education, and experiencePreferred:

  Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Business, Engineering, Public Administration, Law, or related fieldExperience:

  4 or more years of related work experience

  Experience reviewing and interpreting legal requirements, including laws, rules, and regulations

  Preferred:

  3 or more years of utility experienceLicenses & Certifications:

  Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record based on driving requirements for the positionSr. Environmental Compliance Professional

  Education:

  Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Business, Engineering, Public Administration, Law, or related fieldOR

  An equivalent combination of training, education, and experiencePreferred:

  Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Business, Engineering, Public Administration, Law, or related fieldExperience:

  6 years of directly related environmental compliance experience

  Demonstrated advanced level experience reviewing and interpreting requirements, including laws, rules, and regulations

  Preferred:

  5 or more years of utility experience

  Experience with CAA, CWA, and or RCRA/DOT regulations

  Licenses & Certifications:

  Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record based on driving requirements for the positionPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  This position works within the office and in the field. Walking/hiking is performed occasionally, up to 4-6 miles on uneven ground, ascents/descents, and at times on steep, unconsolidated slopes, in all seasons/weather conditions, (with the ability to take self-paced breaks when needed). Lifting of up to 37 lbs. to waist height, lifting up to 5 lbs. to shoulder height, pushing/pulling up to 10/11 lbs., and reaching is performed occasionally. Stooping/bending, crouching, kneeling, crawling, and twisting is required occasionally; sometimes in confined spaces. Climbing of ladders and stairs is performed occasionally. Driving up to 6 hours may be required to reach worksites. The above is a summary of the primary essential functions of the position.   ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  Works independently with minimal supervision. Part of an ongoing revolving schedule involving being on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for two weeks straight. Participates in the development of recommendations for management. Works directly with business units. Interacts with regulators such as ODEQ, IDEQ, NDEP, DOT, and ATF.
