GPD Group works directly with the communities we serve for power allocation and energy innovation. Role Qualifications:
A Power Utility Engineer will be responsible for the Activities include site walks, computer modeling, sizing of structures and transmission line components, designing foundations, coordinating with survey/Geotech/manufacturers, creating bill of materials, communication with internal and external project managers, applying customary engineering design principles and critical thinking.
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology.1-3 years related experience in high voltage transmission, distribution line engineering (12kV to 500kV).Pursuit of or have passed FE exam.Understanding of design software such as: PLS-CADD and Auto-CAD to develop the design deliverables. Ability to learn and effectively utilize new design software programs.Interest and/or experience with tower structures (pole, lattice, guyed).Ability to comprehend and interpret safety codes, utility standards and regulations (NESC, ASCE, IEEE).Basic knowledge in design, calculations, and design systems.Basic knowledge in the theory and practices of engineering discipline; competent in the fundamental concepts of other disciplines as they relate to the assigned discipline; and capable of operating related discipline design software necessary to execute production tasks.Ability to work collaboratively with others (Project Managers, Engineers and Designers) in a multi-discipline project team environment to resolve design or drawing issues as appropriate and to accomplish objectives.Excellent written & verbal communication skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.Ability to develop estimates and budgets.
