Gannett Fleming provides building-focused architectural and engineering services to a variety of commercial, industrial, and institutional clients. We provide analysis, evaluation, plans, and design for facility projects that involve rehabilitation, expansion, and new construction. We provide services in mechanical/HVAC, electrical/lighting, structural, security, data and voice communications, energy management, audio visual, civil/utility, site development, and architectural disciplines.
Under close supervision, you will support projects realted to an array of building types serving both private and public sector clientele from market sectors including Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Medical Device Manufacturers, Food and Beverage, Transportation, Higher Education and Industrial Manufacturing.
Responsibilities:Prepares basic sketches and performs calculations in support of broader engineering activities involving the design of equipment, components, structures, or systems.Gathers and records information to be used for writing specifications.Reviews vendor drawings to assure compliance with specifications.Prepares routine technical reports.Performs mechanical engineering calculations (e.g. heat load calculations, fan and pump friction loss calculations)Models mechanical and plumbing/piping systems in Revit and AutoCADEquipment selections (AHU's, Chillers, Boilers, Air Compressors, etc.)Generates Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's)Performs studies and prepares routine technical reports or sections of reportsEvaluates vendor submissions to assure compliance with contract documentsPerforms site observations and collects field dataCoordinates design with other disciplinesEducation | Experience:Minimum QualificationsA BS or higher degree in Architectural Engineering or Mechanical Engineering is requiredE.I.T is preferred0-3 years of experience; prior internship(s) within the AEC industry highly preferredWorking Knowledge of design software (REVIT and AutoCAD)Knowledge of building mechanical, plumbing, piping, and fire protection systemsBasic knowledge of mechanical controls strategies (VAV, etc.)Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)Effective interpersonal communications skills, a team oriented disposition and work style, where cooperative work sharing and peer to peer mentoring is a daily habitPersonal inclination to learn and grow via internal training, external training, and senior staff mentorshipGood oral and written communication skillsAble to support and enhance our department's collective ability to perform Client Site services including surveys and inspectionsCompany Overview:At Gannett Fleming, we believe in improving the lives of the people we serve.
