  Job Description Summary

  The Enterprise Solutions Specialist will play a critical role to shape and drive execution of the support strategy for the BD Synapsys™ Informatics solution for the US Technical Services organization. This will enable our organization to be positioned to deliver outstanding support for our customers. This role will represent the domain expert for the BD Synapsys™ Informatics solution, which includes informatics, software and applications components of our enabling technologies. This individual will develop and deliver technical training for our US-based Field Service and Applications teams, and will also work closely with other subject matter experts to provide Informatics and Applications troubleshooting and escalation support for all instrument platforms utilizing the BD Synapsys™ solution. The position will undertake implementation tasks for existing installs, upgrades and NPI - including creating and managing role appropriate training environments, developing mapped workflows, and developing testing scripts both for upgrades and new product introduction. The NSS-Synapsys specialist will also develop and manage critical KPIs, which ensure the business meets or exceeds service commitments for our customers, and to understand where improvements can be made.

  The Enterprise Solutions Specialist(ESS) will play a critical role to shape and drive execution of the support strategy for the BD Synapsys™ Informatics solution for the US Technical Services organization.   BD Synapsys Informatics Solution

  The BD Synapsys™ solution is an advanced browser-based application that enables access to lab workflow and data anytime, anywhere, and is designed to meet cyber-security and data privacy standards. The solution architecture allows for seamless integration with different IT environments and remote connectivity to maximize system uptime. BD Synapsys™ solution provides secure, seamless access and advanced connectivity to BD Diagnostic Systems instruments.

  Today, laboratories struggle with multiple middleware solutions and interfaces to support their operations. Timely access to instrument status and data is critical in order to improve laboratory productivity and efficiency.

  BD Synapsys™ solution provides secure and scalable connectivity to multiple platforms that include BD-COR, BD-Max, BD BACTEC™ blood culture solution, BD Kiestra™ lab automation solution and, in the U.S., BD Veritor™ Plus point-of-care solution. BD Synapsys™ solution allows connectivity for any number of supported instruments to one or more LIS systems. Further, an unlimited number of users can access the system from anywhere at any time through an intuitive, personalized user interface.

  Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  Develop training and deliver training programs for our Field Service and Applications specialists. Application workflow and integration with Synapsys platform is critical. CTS and Marketing)training will include role-based implementation and configuration.Create work-instructions,and quick guidesto assist FSE's with instrument servicing tasks in a Synapsys environment.Stay informed on Synapsis development. Undertake implementation tasks for upcoming Synapsys introductions. Create training outlines, develop appropriate training environments in the sandbox, create solution testing scripts, create mapped workflows and testing solutions.Stay informed on Synapsys revisions and feature additions. Define US region upgrade strategy and materials at the training and implementation level.Create mapped workflows for tasks associated with Synapsys implementation. Examples include Order cancellation, QC failures, Consumable expiration, result release and exception monitoring (specimen, instrument errors.)Assist with defining customer training. Assist with training material content and training outline.Effectively work in a team setting to provide prompt, high-quality on-site and remote support to BD customers and associates. This support includes, instrument stabilization, connectivity, advanced site troubleshooting, assisting with instrument configurations, new product support and regional readiness for hardware and software upgrades.Identifies root cause(s) utilizing comprehensive diagnostic processes and takes appropriate corrective action adhering to defined Complaint Handling and Escalation processes.Work closely with Leadership and key stakeholders to optimize the strategic approach for supporting the BD Synapsys™ Solution, which may include identifying required skill sets and processes in order to excel.Manage KPIs, and drives change initiatives as required to improve efficiencies and execute on business commitments.Actively participates on special projects and/or assignments as determined by direct manager.Provide new product support and ensure regional readiness by working closely with the Global development teams, and be involved in the early process of the new product testing and release phases.Become Tier III trained and certified on Synapsys and Tier II on IDS software and applications.Act as SME on the Synapsys software solution as to assist in remote IDS/Synapsys installations and upgrades. Ability to assist in installation and configuration of Synapsys SCUEstablishes and cultivates internal and external relationships to enhance business performance and customer experiences. Promotes a safe working environment and ensures compliance with applicable policies and procedures. Adherence to Quality Policies and Departmental Standard Operation Procedures

  Minimum Qualifications:

  Knowledge and Skills

  Adept with complex IT solutions, and familiarity with LIS solutions.Knowledge of application workflows as related to microbiology and molecular-based medical device systems.Demonstrated leadership, motivational and organizational skills with a proven track record of excelling in a cross-functional team environment.Ability to work professionally with all levels of internal/external organizations.Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills; including effective internal and external communications and crisis/conflict resolution skills.Consistent professionalism in customer, cross-team/functional interactions with high concern for customer needs and expectations.Willing and able to travel up to 30%

  Education and Experience

  Bachelor's Degree in Computers Technology / Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biology.5 years of service experience with hardware, applications and/or software systems integration.High level understanding of Knowledge of PC/software/LIS/database management knowledge required.Working knowledge and experience of networking set up and troubleshooting.Demonstrated ability to function effectively in customer facing environment.Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and assigned tasks independently with minimal supervision.Working knowledge of Interbase and Microsoft SQL is a plus.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Continuous Improvement foundation (i.e. Lean and Six Sigma), is preferred.
