JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: This position will serve as theadministrative leader across Trempealeau, Pepin, Jackson, and BuffaloCounties, which comprise Area 9 within the Division of Extension. AreaExtension Directors have primary responsibility for managing localfunding relationships and related office administration, supervisinglocal/area staff and office team culture, and overseeing localpartnerships and associated communication. Area Extension Directors alsoprovide guidance to educators as they implement programming and provideessential advice and input to educators and programs regarding localprogrammatic needs and funding partner needs. The Area ExtensionDirector (AED) supports UW-Madison Division of Extension educationalprogramming in Area 9 by building high performing office teams ofExtension educators and county support staff, and fosters an environmentthat is inclusive, trusting, respectful, and collegial. The AED isresponsible for managing the resources for Extension by overseeing theExtension County budgets, and state budget allocations. A successful AEDwill require great cultural competency to work with diverse staff andclientele and have the political savvy required to work with urbancounties to identify and assess new opportunities in programming,funding, and staffing. Reporting to the Assistant Dean, the AED willsupport the work with county governments, municipalities, and partnerorganizations to ensure that the educational needs of local communitiesare met. The AED serves as the direct supervisor for the programmaticDivision of Extension staff in the Area and provides leadership in staffdevelopment and partnerships.
