TheEngineering Technician III is responsible for the planning,implementation, and performance of advanced electrical, mechanical,audio, and environmental tests of current and new product designs undergeneral supervision. Facilitates continuous improvement activities toreduce the potential for product defects. Partners with Engineering andis involved with problem identification, containment activities, actionplan creation and execution. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Setup test equipment and products in proper sequence per testingprocedures. Perform tests on prototypes, existing, and competitorproducts for stated criteria involving mechanical, electrical,environmental, and electromechanical functions through ISO 17025 andLaboratory Scope of Operations. Use various mechanical, electrical, andelectronic measurement devices. Maintain test-related documentation indatabase environment. Analyze test data and prepare formal and informaltest reports. Minimal Qualifications: High School Diploma; 5 years ofrelevant work experience. Preferred Qualifications: UL, CSA, ASEcertification; ISO training; Proficiency in welding, shaping sheetmetal, mill or turning (dependent on lab location). Experience managingprojects or participating in project teams; Experience using specializedequipment such as engine dynamometers; Physical demands: Whileperforming the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required totalk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.
