ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN - FIELD INSPECTOR EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: Performfield inspection and investigations regarding construction, land use andenvironmental issues and document findings. Assist other Town departmentand organizations including but not limited to Conservation, Recreation,Open Space, and Building Department with inspections and reporting.Assist in the inspection of commercial, subdivision, and municipalconstruction projects. Work with contractors to resolve problems. Assistwith solid waste and recycling compliance and reporting. Assist in themanagement of contractors\' licenses and enforcement. Update the DPWwebsite. Assist with field inspection and data collection involvingstorm water, water and wastewater regulatory compliance projects. Assistwith block plan and other Town map updates as needed using GIS softwareincluding AutoCAD. Maintain DPW record plans. Provide technicalassistance, conduct field investigations to address residents\' concernsand others on Public Works, land use, and environmental issues. Collectfield data utilizing surveying equipment and GIS mobile devices. Attendmeetings, trainings programs and seminars, provides office coverage andadministrative support when necessary. MIN. QUALIFICATIONS: AssociatesDegree in Engineering or civil engineering technology with courses incivil, structural and environmental engineering. Must be fluent in MSWord, Excel, AutoCAD and GIS. More than 1 year, up to and including 3years of related work experience or equivalent combination of educationand experience.
