Our Engineering Technician III isresponsible for the planning, implementation, and performance ofadvanced electrical, mechanical, audio, and environmental tests ofcurrent and new product designs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Testing: Setup test equipment and products in proper sequence pertesting procedures. Perform tests on prototypes, existing, andcompetitor products for stated criteria involving mechanical,electrical, environmental, and electromechanical functions through ISO17025 and Laboratory Scope of Operations. Use various mechanical,electrical, and electronic measurement devices. Accurately interpret anddocument scientific notation, temperature, pressure, and othermeasurements. Fabricate and lead assembly of test equipment andprototype products per blueprint specifications. Develop and validatebill of materials in conjunction with Engineering team. Validatelaboratory testing methods and demonstrate testing competence per ISO17025 and the Laboratory Scope of Operations. Clerical: Maintaintest-related documentation in database environment. Analyze test dataand prepare formal and informal test reports. Assist with the GeneracEngineering Laboratory Audit and organization 5S programs. Update anddevelop policies and procedures supporting the continuous improvement ofthe Engineering Lab. Other Duties: Actively participate with fellow Labteam members in daily maintenance of Lab environment and preventivemaintenance of Lab equipment. Collaborate with Engineers for planning oftesting requirements. Recommend laboratory test equipment and facilityrequirements. Mentor and train developing technicians. MinimumQualifications: High School Diploma; 5 years of relevant workexperience. Preferred Qualifications: UL, CSA, ASE certification; ISOtraining; Proficiency in welding, shaping sheet metal, mill or turning(dependent on lab location). Experience managing projects orparticipating in project teams; Experience using specialized equipmentsuch as engine dynamometers; Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Able towork non-standard or extended work hours when necessary; Intermediateskills in Microsoft Excel and Word; Manage and participate in projects;Interpret blueprint and electrical schematics; Demonstrateself-motivation; Lead and complete projects within guidelines; Workeffectively in a fast-pace, team environment; Communicate effectivelythough written and oral means; Demonstrate aptitude to coordinatormultiple projects...
