Basic Job Functions:
Lead and supervise the Design Group to execute Nucor's Mission by:.
Developing and implementing teammate training and personal improvement programs, as well as providing performance appraisals and recommending compensation adjustments based on performanceProviding mentoring, coaching and accountability to the Design Group.Assuring consistent application of current design policies, procedures and practices.Monitoring and reporting weekly payroll information, tracking and coordinating vacation.Overseeing and managing individual work schedules and the production schedule.Providing "World Class" service, meeting customer needs quickly and effectively.Coordinating recruiting efforts and interviews for additions to the Design Group, as well as making hiring recommendations.Partner with the Division Leadership team to drive continuous improvement.Support Business Development through customer and specifier interactions promoting Nucor's value proposition and cultivating deeper partnerships.Bestmark with other Nucor divisions to continuously improve operating results and customer preference.Provide back up support as situations arise for the Engineering Manager.

Minimum Requirements:
Have a minimum of a B.S. Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.Registered PE or Passed PE Exam - in process of completing PE experience requirement.

Preferences:
Prior Leadership ExperienceCivil Engineering degree with emphasis in structuresJoist and Deck, Metal Buildings or Structural Steel Design and/or Detailing ExperienceWilling to relocate for future advancement opportunities within Nucor
