Starlink is the world's largest satellite constellation and is providing fast, reliable internet to 1M+ users worldwide.As we continue to upgrade and expand the constellation, we are looking for talented Engineering Specialists who will be responsible for being the front line of support for resolving production issues while ensuring design integrity, product quality and meeting delivery timelines.RESPONSIBILITIES:Execute new product introduction builds across all work centersAssist with initial PCBA line setup, facility requests, and programming of equipmentProgram, load, and operates automated equipmentDesign custom fixtures for PCBA to ensure efficient process flowTrain technicians to run/troubleshoot complex machinesTriage non-conforming product and drives resolution and preventative actionsResolve production issues while ensuring design integrity, product quality, and delivery timelinesPerform process development and validation on new models in extremely aggressive timelinesEnsure the successful transition of a product's developmentIdentify continuous improvement opportunities for yield, performance, and costDefine maintenance schedules and support activitiesOptimize and configure processes and equipment for building surface mount electronics assembliesPerform design of experiments (DOE) to optimize SMT process yieldSpecify equipment requirements for new PCBA build processesDevelop design for manufacturability (DFM) guidelines for PCBA designsProvide solutions to streamline space-grade circuit board assembly and test processes which may include flying probe, AOI, and functional testing, reflow soldering, selective soldering, and conformal coatingResolve production issues on the spot while ensuring design integrity allowing us to stay on scheduleFacilitate a close relationship with the engineering team during design, build, and test to provide design feedbackBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or equivalency certificate and 2+ years of professional experience in a hands-on manufacturing environment; OR bachelor's degree in an engineering, math or science discipline2+ years of experience working in SMT or PCBA process engineeringPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:Passion for advancing the commercial space industry and human spaceflightStrong work ethic and drive to succeedAbility to work in a fast paced, autonomously driven, and demanding start-up atmosphereExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalExperience producing J-STD-001 Class 2, IPC-A-610 Class 2 or equivalent hardwareHands on experience with optimizing SMT pick and place, reflow oven, conformal coating, or through hole soldering systemsPassion for advancing the commercial space industry and human spaceflightADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as requiredMust be able to lift 25 pounds unassistedStanding for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this positionCOMPENSATION & BENEFITS:Pay range:Engineering Specialist, SMT /Level 1: $32.00 - $40.00/hourEngineering Specialist, SMT /Level 2: $36.00 - $45.00/hourEngineering Specialist, SMT /Level 3: $40.00 - $50.00/hourYour actual level and base salary will be determined on a case
