This internship opportunity will provide hands-on experience and exposure to various engineering projects and processes within our organization. As an Engineering Intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced engineers and gain valuable skills that will kickstart your career in engineering.
DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs an engineering intern, you will have the opportunity to learn roadway, pavement, drainage and bridge designs; construction and materials testing; traffic systems design and operations; or maintenance asset management methodologies.
This internship will allow you to develop your technical skills, apply classroom knowledge to real-world projects, and work alongside engineering professionals who are passionate about innovation and excellence.

QUALIFICATIONSStudents who are interested in a PennDOT internship must meet all of the following requirements:Full-time enrollment in college (carrying 12 or more undergraduate credits, or 9 or more graduate credits) or Part-time enrollment in college (registered for a minimum of six credits)Enrolled part or full-time for the next semester by the start of the internship in an applicable major.Acceptable Majors:Civil EngineeringConstruction EngineeringEnvironmental EngineeringStructural EngineeringCompletion of the first year of a two-year associate degree or four-year bachelor's degree program.In good academic standing (as defined by a GPA of 2.0 or higher)Must be at least 18 years of ageSpecial Requirement: Certain positions require a valid Pennsylvania Class CDriver's LicenseAdditional Requirements:You must be able to perform essential job functions.Preferred Majors:Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.If you do not meet these requirements but are still interested in a summer position with PennDOT, please see the Student Summer Worker job posting to explore additional job opportunities.
