Engineering Intern (Temporary Position)Lakeland, FL, USOn-Site
As an Engineering Intern you will provide support in the development of the Lakeland site’s standard operating procedures under the direction of department managers and assistance from shop floor employees. You may also assist the Engineering/Maintenance Manager with a spare parts inventory project. This position requires a person to be detailed oriented with good computer and communication skills (verbal and written). Experience with technical writing is preferred.

Your key responsibilities• Expect 50% of time engaging with staff members on the shop floor gathering information (process steps, relevant photos, safety requirements and other parameters) to develop new and modify existing procedures.• Expect 50% of time spent at a PC constructing procedures using Microsoft applications.• Any downtime from procedure development could be spent sorting and cataloging the sites spare parts inventory or assisting with process or project engineering tasks.• Perform other duties as required

You bring• Second year engineering student or higher is preferred with a commitment to work a minimum of 24 hrs/week• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from multi-functional teams.• Ability to work with mathematical concepts. • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.• To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Suite applications (Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.)• Must be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment and be willing to wear personal protective equipment based on process and food safety requirements.
