  Position Overview:

  Ameresco is currently seeking an Engineering Intern to work with Ameresco’s Energy Asset Operations (EAO) group. This position is located in the Portland, ME office and requires the implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of control systems for biomass, landfill gas to energy, automated demand response, combined heat and power, and alternative energy projects throughout the United States.

  Responsibilities:

  Assist our renewable energy plant automation and operations teams with automated reporting, data collection, dashboards and plant troubleshooting for our fleet of renewable energy facilities throughout the United States.

  Develop a centralized fleet dashboard using MS Power BI.

  Merge existing reports together as part as an effort to eliminate unnecessary reports and provide concise information to managers and customers.

  Respond to and troubleshoot issues with reports. Coordinate with Plant Operators and Compliance Specialists on any issues or requests.

  Respond to inquiries to retrieve and analyze plant operational data.

  Create CAD drawings of the network architecture in the Portland office to include existing hardware and future changes / improvements. Organize and procure hardware as needed for network changes. Coordinate a planned outage of the network to implement changes / improvements.

  Update plant information in SQL to be used throughout the reporting system.

  Assist operations team by traveling to one of our plants and executing a project to improve the process, network, or automation systems at the plant.

  Perform other duties as assigned.

  Minimum Qualifications:

  Enrolled in a Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Engineering Technology, with an interest in process and control systems, network infrastructure and data management.Additional Qualifications:

  Proven ability to gather, validate, and analyze quantitative data and information.

  Proficient with programming, including experience using Visual Basic and HTML.

  Proficient with database creation and management in SQL and Proficy Historian.

  Experience with iFIX and XLReporter, and how they connect with the above database systems.

  Understanding of power plant systems and ability to troubleshoot and understand data from those systems.

  Familiarity with virtual machines and server management.

  Familiarity with firewalls, network protocols, and network management.

  Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects.

  Valid Drivers’ License issued by state of residence and in good standing.
