　　About American Express Cloud Engineering:

　　American Express Cloud Engineering provides comprehensive platform that enables business critical applications to have faster Time-to-Market for American Express. The platform offers fast-paced rapid code-to-development models and services such as Platform-as-a-Service, Infrastructure-as-a-Service, DB-as-a-Service, CICD Pipelines, etc. for application developers in a hybrid cloud environment. Amex Cloud Platform enables Application developers to write modern scalable cloud native applications.

　　As a Senior Engineer II, Cloud Engineering you will be part of the Platform Engineering Team of Cloud that build core Cloud capabilities to enable Application teams to build modern applications. The architecture includes PaaS/IaaS/CICD components in a Hybrid Cloud model and technologies that drive to build modern applications.

　　The ideal candidate

　　Serve as a key member to help design and and delivery of responsive backend services - utilising best practice principles.

　　Looks proactively beyond the obvious for continuous improvement opportunities.

　　Familiarity with API & integration patterns to securely communicate with backend services and clients.

　　Work in an agile delivery team, with familiarity with the processes and ceremonies

　　Has a drive to learn industry leading/innovative technologies and solutions

　　Good positive attitude, communication, willingness to learn and share with others.

　　Effective in managing work priorities and your time - both independently and as part of a team

　　Bring a culture of innovation and experimentation, as well as manage risk taking to implement creative ideas.

　　Bring a culture of continuous improvement and willingness to challenge the status quo.

　　Guide and mentor other engineers and collaborate with external teams & Product Owners

　　Appetite to learn new technologies and translate them into working software.

　　Minimum Qualifications

　　Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.

　　Development experience in a modern development stack (Java or Golang preferred) is essential.

　　Experience in NodeJS development and exposure to frontend frameworks such as ReactJS is a essential.

　　Hands-on experience deploying and monitoring services running on Kubernetes/ OpenShift.

　　Understanding of building applications with secure integration with API Gateways using REST endpoints is essential.

　　Experience with automated build and test frameworks is essential.

　　Knowledge of programming in Python is a plus.

　　Good understanding of Application and Network Security architectures is a plus.

　　Understanding of NoSQL, Messaging and caching products such as Kafka, Couchbase and Redis is a plus.
