Working with our client, we are currently looking for an Engine Health Monitoring (EHM) Engineer to provide support to our various projects. Please note this is a contract position, work until 31 st Dec 2024.
As an EHM Engineer within the Quest team you will hold the following attributes and responsibility as below:
The overall role of a EHM is to devise and implement systems to monitor operational efficiency and performance of, in this application, Diesel locomotive power systems
This team’s key focus is to carry out computer modelling for diagnosis of engine problems, trend analysis of service engines, customer engine health monitoring and root cause analysis of in-service events.
A key part of this is making sure that the appropriate questions have been asked and a clear requirements capture of what needs to be supplied to answer these is achieved.
Tasks typically involve carrying out any necessary computer modelling and/or analysis and providing appropriate data and technical reports.
Knowledge of MS Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint required. VBA, Matlab or SQL experience would be advantageous but not essential.
Capable of learning how to create, modify and run computer performance models, as well as generating and interpreting tabular and graphical output.
Basic understanding of IC engine performance, thermodynamics and fluid dynamics.
Good communication skills, self-motivated, willingness to learn.
Good attention to detail.
BSc/MSc/PhD in Engineering, Maths, Physics or associated discipline
