Miller Industries is seeking a dynamic and talented professional to join our team as an Employee Engagement and Communications Specialist for our corporate headquarters in Ooltewah, TN. As a member of the Human Resources Department,you will be responsible for executing a wide range of internal communications projects, leading engagement initiatives, planning events, managing community relations, and contributing to talent management efforts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Communications
Foster strong relationships with employees to drive engagement and alignment with the organization's values.Develop and implement internal communication strategies, ensuring consistent and effective messaging across various channels, including email, text, intranet, and other digital platforms.Create engaging and informative content for internal communications, such as announcements, presentations, and videos, to keep employees informed and connected.Execute communication plans for key organizational initiatives, including change management projects, new policies, and corporate announcements.Monitor and analyze internal communication metrics, engagement data, and feedback to measure the effectiveness of communication strategies and continuously improve practices.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and insights, ensuring communications align with departmental goals and company objectives.Collaborate with Marketing to create visually appealing content that aligns with branding and design standards.Lead employee engagement initiatives, including surveys, focus groups, and feedback sessions, to gauge employee satisfaction, identify areas for improvement, and drive positive change.Administer electronic platforms including our intranet site, AtHoc messaging, Eventbrite, Bonfire, and ShopifyEvent Planning
Plan and organize employee events, such as town halls, company picnics, golf tournaments, team-building activities, and recognition programs, to boost morale, promote a sense of belonging, and foster a positive and inclusive work culture.Coordinate event logistics, including venue, set-up, attendee registration, transportation, accommodations, meals, and technology. Conducts rehearsals and system checks of all equipment and connectivity.Research, develop, and manage relationships with vendors for event support services. Coordinates budget planning and ensures that events stay within cost projections.Manage emp oyee hours at the Miller Industries Company store.Community Relations
Coordinate initiatives designed to promote and represent the organization and brand as a socially responsible force in the community.Encourage employee engagement and participation in outreach programs that support the community and produce a positive impact to address local issues.Serve as the primary contact for employee-related, non-profit, and organizational sponsorships; manage donations to these programs.Talent Management
Collaborate with fellow Human Resources team members to develop and execute programs for talent acquisition, onboarding, and retention that enhance the employee experience throughout the entire employee life cycle.Design compelling communication materials to effectively disseminate talent management initiatives and programs.Coordinate and facilitate employee surveys and feedback mechanisms to gather insights and identify areas that need improvement in talent management practices.Partner with internal stakeholders to make sure that messaging and branding related to talent management programs remain consistent across various communication channels.Assist with talent acquisition efforts by supporting advertising, recruitment, selection, employee onboarding, development programs, performance management, and succession planning.Contribute to organizational development initiatives by providing insights and recommendations for enhancing employee experience, fostering collaboration, and promoting a high-performance culture.Support the implementation of employee development programs and initiatives, such as training workshops, mentoring programs, and coaching sessions, to improve talent growth and retention.Assist with administrative duties related to the coordination of training and organizational development programs.Other duties may be assigned.

Education, Skills, and Experience:
Must be an outgoing people person, comfortable and confident delivering messages in large group settings or by video.
Bachelor's degree in human resources, communications, public relations, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proven experience in internal communications, employee engagement, and event planning.
Prior Human Resources generalist experience preferred.
Well organized and trustworthy with a high level of discretion.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages for diverse audiences.
Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
Proficiency in using communication tools and platforms, such as event management software, intranet systems, and social media platforms.
Knowledge of best practices in employee communications, engagement, and event planning.
Ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization and work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Strong Photoshop and video editing skills preferred.
Must be able to travel 10-15% of the time, some weekend work.
